A breakdown of the Energy and Environment Cabinet. 

About the Agency

The Energy and Environment Cabinet (EEC) was created in June 2008.  The former Environmental and Public Protection Cabinet was reorganized by Gov. Steve Beshear to provide better access to services for the people of Kentucky. 

The EEC consists of the Department for Environmental Protection, the Department for Natural Resources and the Department of Energy Development and Independence.

The secretary of the cabinet is Dr. Len Peters.
